SOCIAL CARE DEPUTY MANAGER. (FULL TIME CONTRACT, DUBLIN)

We are seeking a qualified Deputy Centre Manager to join support one
of our residential centres in Dublin. This is a fulltime, permanent
position, based in the centre, with * Mon-Fri
hours.

ROLE:

* To ensure that all care practices comply with relevant childcare
legislation, National Standards for Children’s Residential Centres
and best practice.
* To actively promote, participate in and ensure the provision of
high standards of physical care, hygiene and safety for all children
resident in the Home.
* To manage the home so as to meet as far as possible the expressed
needs of the individual children, and to promote positive outcomes for
them.
* To participate in the pre-admission and admission processes to
ensure that the placement needs of the child are fully identified and
individual care plans in place to meet these needs.
* To ensure that individual care plans are developed, implemented
and monitored in accordance with agreed standards.
* To attend and contribute to planning meetings, statutory reviews,
management team meetings and other meetings as required, representing
the Home in a positive fashion and where necessary, acting as an
advocate for the child and their family.
* To contribute to the development and maintenance of good working
relationships with parents and other family members, social workers,
teachers, doctors, and all other relevant professionals and agencies.
* To ensure that the Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) model and
Person Centred Planning (PCP) model are fully integrated within the
homes care practices and to monitor and evaluate their application.

QUALIFICATIONS:

* A minimum Level 7 qualification in Social Care (preferred) or a
relevant alternative *

* _Relevant alternative qualifications include: Psychology (Level 8),
and Level 7 in Child and Adolescent Psychotherapy, Counselling /
Psychotherapy, Addiction Counselling, Youth and Community Work, Social
Sciences / Social Studies, Family Support, Disability Studies, Applied
Behavioural Analysis, Early Years Care (U *
centres only), BA Applied Policing, Higher Certificate in Custodial
Care, Teaching and Nursing_

* A minimum of 3 years’ fulltime experience of working in a social
care setting with children and young people.
* The requisite knowledge and ability for the proper discharge of
the duties of the role.
* The ability to relate to and care for vulnerable children, young
people, and adults and to demonstrate a genuine respect for them,
their parents and families.
* A full, manual EU driving licence.
* Eligibility to work in Ireland, with fluency in English.

 DESIRABLE: 

* Working knowledge and understanding of Child Protection
* A working knowledge and insight into the social issues (e.g.
substance abuse) that affect young people, in particular young people,
who have or are experiencing trauma and attachment issues
* Working knowledge of the natio

SOCIAL CARE WORKER. (FULL TIME CONTRACT, DUBLIN)

We are seeking a qualified Social Care Worker to join support one of
our residential centres in Dublin. This is a fulltime, permanent
position, based in the centre, with * Mon-Fri
hours.

ROLE:

* To_ _ensure the young people receive the highest standard of care,
education and development.
* To provide emotional support and create opportunities for each
young person to share their feelings about their own particular
situation. To ensure the rights of young people are respected and
upheld at all times
* To ensure the young person has an input into their Care Plan
through meetings with their Social Workers families and other relevant
professional and in house meetings
* To manage each young persons behaviour by creating a friendly,
safe, happy and caring environment for all.
* To manage difficult behaviour through then use of recommended
interventions eg. TCI
* To develop and implement age appropriate programmes for the young
people through Mentor work.
* To liaise with external agencies (schools, Social Workers,
counsellors, medical practitioners etc.) on behalf of the young
people, and work with personnel in a professional and respectful
manner.
* To promote contact with family members and other significant
people and to facilitate access as required
